- Currently enrolled graduate student.
- Demonstrated commitment to public interest law, civil liberties, ending mass incarceration, and challenging racism in the criminal legal system.
- Excellent research, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to handle complex operational tasks.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
- Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and manage multiple tasks.
- Must be based in the U.S. for the entire duration of the internship.
- Must be tied to the intern’s formal education program by integrated coursework or the receipt of academic credit.
Responsibilities
- Assist with campaign strategy and operations to advance civil liberties and civil rights at federal, state, and local levels.
- Coordinate with other teams to move complex campaigns forward.
- Perform research projects and develop strategic plans for events and campaigns.
- Manage meeting scheduling, note taking, and attend coalition calls.
- Support the mission and values of the ACLU through various campaign methods.
