Requirements
- 6+ years of relevant experience in engineering.
- Prior experience managing and growing engineering teams, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
- Strong hands-on background in designing data pipelines, data models, and platform architecture at scale.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Deep understanding of streaming and batch processing architectures (e.g., Kafka, Spark, Flink, Airflow).
- Experience with cloud data infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern data platform tools like dbt or data lakehouse patterns.
- Knowledge of data quality, observability, and governance principles.
- Demonstrated commitment to AI-first development and experience setting standards for AI-assisted workflows.
- Experience delivering in agile environments.
- Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken).
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary data engineering team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and ownership.
- Mentor engineers at all levels to support their professional growth through coaching and structured feedback.
- Own the full lifecycle of data systems, including ingestion, transformation, storage, serving, and observability.
- Guide architectural decisions for scalable, high-throughput real-time and batch data systems.
- Enforce best practices in data modeling, pipeline reliability, data quality, and secure data handling aligned with PCI-DSS and GDPR.
- Champion an AI-first engineering culture, integrating LLM-powered workflows and automated testing.
- Collaborate with Product, Analytics, Machine Learning, and Finance teams to deliver business priorities in an agile environment.
