Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in data engineering building and operating production-grade data platforms.
- Deep hands-on expertise in Python and SQL.
- Proven experience with workflow orchestration tools like Airflow.
- Experience designing and optimizing analytical data stores, ideally ClickHouse or similar columnar databases.
- Practical experience with dbt and modern ELT patterns.
- Experience with event-driven or streaming architectures using Kafka.
- Experience deploying and operating data workloads in Kubernetes.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling, particularly dimensional modeling and Kimball methodology.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering efficiency.
- Ability to balance speed and quality in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across functions and time zones.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable batch and streaming data pipelines using Python, SQL, ClickHouse, Airflow, Kafka, dbt, and dlt.
- Design clean, well-documented, and sustainable data models using dimensional modeling and Kimball principles.
- Build and maintain transformation layers in dbt, improving testing, documentation, and reliability.
- Optimize data storage and query performance in ClickHouse to ensure cost-effective access to high-volume datasets.
- Strengthen orchestration, observability, data quality, and failure recovery for data workloads in Kubernetes.
- Establish engineering best practices for development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
- Define and implement data governance principles including ownership, lineage, and consistency.
- Partner with product managers and engineers to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
- Mentor engineers and influence data engineering architecture and practices.
