Requirements
- Proven experience as a technical leader or systems thinker.
- Ability to reason about data-intensive systems including ingestion, storage, and querying.
- Proficiency in Go for backend services and APIs.
- Experience with columnar or analytical data storage solutions.
- Understanding of software development processes using a user-centered approach.
- Experience working on performance-sensitive systems with large datasets.
- Ability to work independently in an ambiguous problem space.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate design decisions in English.
- Experience building debugging or developer-focused tools.
- Familiarity with privacy, security, and access control in data-heavy systems.
- Comfortable working in a remote-first, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end technical direction for Session Replay across frontend, backend, and data systems.
- Drive the evolution of backend architecture, including columnar/analytical storage and query engines.
- Define data models, ingestion pipelines, and query patterns for high-volume session data.
- Lead the design of investigation workflows connecting replay with logs, metrics, and traces.
- Make high-leverage architectural decisions impacting multiple teams and products.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to build cohesive cross-product experiences.
- Improve engineering standards, patterns, and operational practices within the team.
- Mentor engineers and help grow technical leadership within the team.
