Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active bar membership in good standing.
- 4+ years of relevant legal experience in corporate law, including project finance and/or M&A.
- Strong experience in contract negotiation and corporate regulatory compliance.
- Ability to balance business expectations with legal and regulatory compliance objectives.
- Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal support for project financing and renewable energy certificates (RECs) transactions.
- Handle entity formation and registration and ensure compliance with state and federal filings, including FERC.
- Manage subscriber acquisition and related legal documentation.
- Draft, review, and negotiate NDAs.
- Conduct due diligence on real estate matters and resolve title and survey issues for solar project sites.
- Collaborate with business teams through the project life cycle from development to energization.
- Ensure compliance with laws and regulations related to real estate and renewable energy.
- Research and advise on novel issues in new markets including policy and business development.
- Partner with the Business Development team to structure and close deals.
- Advise leadership on corporate governance, project-specific considerations, and risk mitigation.
