Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience administering virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, or KVM.
- Proven experience deploying, configuring, and managing virtual machines in production environments.
- Strong understanding of storage systems, networking concepts, and their application in virtualized infrastructures.
- Solid knowledge of backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex infrastructure issues.
- Experience with system performance monitoring, optimization, and capacity planning.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash for automation tasks.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is preferred.
- Virtualization certifications (e.g., VMware VCP or equivalent) are a plus.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes is an advantage.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within cross-functional IT teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage virtualization infrastructure using hypervisor technologies such as VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, or KVM.
- Create, configure, and maintain virtual machines while ensuring optimal resource allocation and system performance.
- Monitor virtualization environments, analyze performance metrics, and implement tuning strategies.
- Manage storage and networking components within virtualized environments to ensure seamless business operations.
- Implement and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity solutions for critical infrastructure systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve virtualization-related issues to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations and operational procedures.
- Ensure adherence to security best practices and access controls within virtualized environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams on capacity planning and infrastructure design.
