Requirements

  • Background as a student or professional in meteorology, climatology, environmental sciences, or a related weather-focused field.
  • Strong self-taught expertise in weather systems, radar interpretation, forecasting models, and storm tracking.
  • Active user of weather applications and familiarity with different meteorological data sources and tools.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to detect subtle inconsistencies in visual or data-driven systems.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to document bugs and issues clearly in English.
  • Comfortable working with web applications, browsers, and cross-device testing environments.
  • Familiarity with QA methodologies such as exploratory or regression testing (nice to have).
  • Basic understanding of APIs or data feeds (nice to have).

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual testing of a web-based weather visualization platform, ensuring features such as radar layers, storm tracking, and forecasting tools function accurately and reliably.
  • Validate the correctness and consistency of meteorological data displays, identifying discrepancies in how weather information is rendered or interpreted.
  • Participate in live testing sessions during active weather events to assess system behavior under real-time conditions.
  • Log, document, and clearly communicate bugs, anomalies, and usability issues to development teams for resolution.
  • Collaborate with engineers to verify fixes and ensure improvements meet both technical and user-experience expectations.
  • Provide domain-informed feedback and suggestions to improve weather data visualization and end-user interpretation.
