Requirements
- 10+ years of professional experience spanning data engineering and analytics engineering.
- 4+ years of experience managing and leading data teams.
- Demonstrated experience owning both data engineering and analytics engineering functions.
- Deep expertise in modern data stack technologies (AWS, Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, Airbyte, Python, SQL).
- Strong expertise in analytics engineering, dbt model design, and dimensional modeling.
- Track record of designing and implementing data platforms.
- Proven ability to improve stakeholder trust in data quality and reporting.
- Strong people management skills, including coaching and career development.
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to simplify complex data concepts for business audiences.
Responsibilities
- Own the vision and technical strategy for data engineering and analytics engineering at Philo.
- Lead and grow the Data Engineering team through hiring, coaching, and performance management.
- Design and implement the data platform architecture and technical standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Build and maintain stakeholder trust in data and reporting through reliable, well-documented products.
- Design scalable data pipelines and infrastructure with a focus on long-term sustainability.
- Implement data governance, security, and quality control processes.
