Requirements
- Admission to a U.S. state bar in good standing.
- Spanish-language fluency for effective client communication.
- Residence within one hour's drive of the nondetained Immigration Court in Orlando, Dallas, or Houston.
- Experience with or readiness to handle asylum claims and related humanitarian relief.
- Demonstrated ability to represent clients in Immigration Court hearings and asylum interviews.
- Strong courtroom and interview advocacy instincts with ability to prepare clients to testify.
- Technological proficiency and willingness to use AI tools and structured workflows.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage competing deadlines, and maintain high standards.
- Alignment with firm values of integrity, excellence, accountability, teamwork, and passion.
- Ability to travel up to two trips of one or two nights per month.
Responsibilities
- Represent clients as counsel in Immigration Court (Master Calendar and Individual Hearings) and in affirmative asylum interviews before USCIS at least twice a week.
- Prepare clients to testify, ensuring they are ready for procedural and factual hearing issues.
- Build rapport with clients to support survivors of trauma in sharing their stories.
- Develop case strategy for hearings and interviews to ensure the strongest outcomes.
- Collaborate across legal teams to ensure cases move through workflows efficiently.
- Leverage AI tools and structured workflows to maintain organization and preparation.
- Travel to Immigration Courts and USCIS offices nationwide, including up to two trips per month.
