Requirements
- Production experience with LLMs at meaningful scale.
- Strong full-stack development skills (experience with PHP, TypeScript, and React is highly valued).
- Experience building AI-powered user interfaces that perform at scale.
- Strong machine learning fundamentals.
- Proven track record of technical leadership or influence on high-performing teams.
- Ability to prototype quickly while building for long-term scale.
- Product-first mindset focused on enhancing user experience.
- Capacity to work effectively in a distributed environment.
- Prior experience developing consumer AI products is a bonus.
Responsibilities
- Ship user-facing AI features across Automattic’s product ecosystem including site building, ecommerce, and messaging tools.
- Build and iterate rapidly on AI-powered products that impact millions of users.
- Collaborate with PMs, designers, and engineers in a fast-paced environment.
- Experiment and scale successful AI innovations from prototype to production across multiple products.
- Embed with product teams such as WordPress.com, WooCommerce, Jetpack, Mesh, Beeper, and Pocket Casts.
- Stay current with AI developments that unlock new user experiences.
