Requirements
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience owning key aspects of the month-end close process
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience reviewing reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules
- Strong understanding of revenue recognition and accrual accounting
- Demonstrated ability to improve accounting processes and internal controls
- High proficiency with Google Suite, Excel/Google Sheets, and accounting ERP systems (Xero preferred)
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- CPA or active pursuit of CPA (Bonus)
- Experience with crypto, digital assets, blockchain, or fintech (Bonus)
- Experience with Ramp or modern accounting systems (Bonus)
- Prior experience mentoring or leading accounting staff (Bonus)
Responsibilities
- Own and drive the monthly close process and reporting timeline
- Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and prepaids
- Oversee revenue accounting and revenue recognition schedules
- Manage accounting for operating expenses and vendor activity
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax providers, and regulatory requirements
- Identify automation opportunities and strengthen internal controls
- Provide guidance and review work for junior accounting team members
