Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience, including 1+ years in a technical lead role.
- Expert-level proficiency in Python including OOP, decorators, and async programming.
- Strong SQL development expertise, specifically with star/snowflake schema modeling and Snowflake performance tuning.
- Proven hands-on experience with Snowflake and dbt (Core or Cloud).
- Practical background in AWS Glue, Lambda, Athena, S3, and Step Functions.
- Competency in CI/CD using GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
- Automated testing experience using Pytest, dbt tests, and Great Expectations.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation.
- Ability to create architecture, sequence, and data flow diagrams.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Proficiency in English at an Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher.
Responsibilities
- Define technical vision, reference architectures, and design patterns for data ingestion, transformation, governance, and serving.
- Design and develop end-to-end data pipelines, APIs, and backend systems using Python, dbt, and Snowflake.
- Enforce coding standards, testing strategies, and code review practices to ensure high-quality, secure code.
- Lead Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK to automate deployments.
- Architect and implement integrations using AWS Glue, Lambda, Athena, S3, and Step Functions.
- Implement comprehensive test coverage using Pytest, dbt tests, and Great Expectations.
- Maintain CI/CD pipelines for data workflows and Python services.
- Mentor and coach data engineers on best practices and architectural thinking.
- Lead on-call rotations and incident response, performing root cause analysis.
