Requirements
- Active CCDS or CDIP credential.
- Minimum 5 years of clinical documentation review experience in an acute care setting.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with VA systems and CAN Score methodology (preferred).
- Active RN, MD, FMG, RHIA, or RHIT (preferred).
- Experience with government contracts or VA Medical Centers (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Attend up to three 30-minute huddles daily (Monday–Friday).
- Present documentation review findings within a 5-minute window per huddle.
- Conduct thorough reviews of inpatient charts for high-risk patients.
- Re-review charts during patient stays to maintain accuracy.
- Abstract key clinical information for reporting and quality assurance.
- Ensure work adheres to contract requirements and HIPAA/VA security protocols.
- Collaborate with VA physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
- Support onboarding of candidates as contractors.
- Contribute to meeting VA KPIs and performance metrics.
