Responsibilities
- Track and monitor pending patient referrals after submission.
- Contact specialist offices via phone, fax, and secure portals to verify referral status.
- Follow up on outstanding referrals and appointment requests.
- Investigate scheduling obstacles and referral delays.
- Identify alternative providers when specialists are unavailable or unable to accept patients.
- Communicate updates and next steps to patients as needed.
- Utilize internal resource guides to locate appropriate specialists.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation within internal systems.
- Collaborate with Scheduling Coordinators and other team members to ensure workflow efficiency.
- Cross-train across multiple coordination functions to support team needs.
