Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Prior experience in a customer service environment.
  • Working experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent quality customer service to members and/or providers.
  • Handle calls to and from providers regarding authorizations, referrals, visits, and tests.
  • Manage requests regarding initial authorizations and updates.
  • Complete member and provider notification calls.
  • Escalate calls to appropriate departments.
  • Manage a large volume of tasks and caseloads from multiple queues.
  • Document accurate member information in compliance with procedures.
  • Ensure member and provider issues are addressed timely and accurately.
  • Monitor screening of members to improve quality and cost outcomes.
  • Maintain PHI confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and internal regulations.
