Requirements
- Strong academic background in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, Economics, or related fields
- Advanced English and/or Spanish
- Solid experience in cloud data platforms with a focus on cost optimization and governance
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft Azure services (e.g., Storage, SQL, Data Factory) and cost analysis by workload
- Hands-on experience with Databricks including cluster management, autoscaling, optimization, and performance tuning
- Advanced Python and SQL skills
- Familiarity with Power BI and Microsoft Fabric
- Experience with observability, SLAs, job monitoring, and cost metrics in cloud environments
- Strong communication skills
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze usage and cost patterns across Azure and Databricks environments
- Lead savings initiatives such as workload rightsizing, cluster optimization, and automation of idle resources
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to implement FinOps best practices
- Track and validate cost impact before and after optimization actions
- Ensure governance, tagging accuracy, and ownership attribution
- Support modernization and migration initiatives with cost-performance analysis
- Participate in FinOps rituals, backlog prioritization, and stakeholder reporting
