Requirements
- Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, AI/ML, Energy Systems, Physics, or a related technical field
- 7+ years of experience in AI infrastructure, high-performance computing, data center systems, or model optimization in academic, research, or industry settings
- Strong expertise in AI model deployment, inference optimization, benchmarking frameworks, or energy-efficient computing systems
- Experience with large-scale AI systems, including LLM inference pipelines, model evaluation, or distributed compute environments
- Strong understanding of AI infrastructure components such as hardware acceleration, cooling systems, cloud platforms, and system optimization
- Proven ability to lead complex, multidisciplinary technical initiatives in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate highly technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and executive audiences
- Strong stakeholder management skills across researchers, industry partners, sponsors, and cross-functional teams
- Experience in public speaking, technical storytelling, or external representation of technical programs is highly valued
- Strong analytical thinking, operational discipline, and ability to manage competing priorities at scale
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the full lifecycle of the prize, including planning, execution, testing protocols, milestones, and operational delivery across global participants
- Defining and managing technical measurement frameworks to evaluate AI energy efficiency, computational performance, scalability, and real-world applicability
- Establishing rigorous benchmarking systems, including “at-the-wall” power measurement protocols and standardized evaluation environments
- Managing judging processes, evaluation criteria, and advisory coordination to ensure impartial, transparent, and scientifically valid outcomes
- Leading the development of leaderboards, verification pipelines, and transition frameworks between remote and on-site evaluation stages
- Overseeing budget allocation, resource planning, operational controls, and cost governance for large-scale program execution
- Engaging and coordinating with researchers, industry partners, sponsors, and technical experts across AI, infrastructure, and energy domains
- Serving as a public-facing ambassador through events, conferences, media engagements, and global outreach initiatives
- Ensuring cross-functional alignment across internal teams including engineering, partnerships, marketing, operations, and executive leadership
