Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, information security, systems administration, network security, risk management, or a related technical field.
- Experience supporting security operations, incident response, vulnerability management, compliance programs, or security engineering.
- Strong knowledge of federal cybersecurity frameworks (NIST SP 800-171, NIST SP 800-53, CMMC, CSF, ISO 27001, CIS Controls).
- Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms, EDR tools, vulnerability management, IAM systems, firewalls, and MFA.
- Experience with vulnerability assessment tools such as Nessus, Tenable, or equivalent.
- Understanding of data classification and secure handling of FCI and CUI.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Relevant industry certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CISM, GSEC, CySA+, or CEH.
- Ability to obtain and maintain eligibility for access to sensitive information.
Responsibilities
- Support the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of security controls aligned with federal compliance frameworks, including NIST SP 800-171, NIST SP 800-53, and CMMC requirements.
- Monitor enterprise security tools and systems, investigate alerts, perform incident triage, and contribute to effective incident response activities.
- Maintain and secure Windows-based environments, including servers, endpoints, Active Directory, and associated infrastructure.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, analyze findings, prioritize remediation efforts, and track corrective actions.
- Support the protection, storage, processing, and handling of sensitive information, including Federal Contract Information (FCI) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
- Enforce data classification standards, access controls, and data protection procedures.
- Participate in internal and external audits, assessments, and compliance reviews.
- Develop and maintain security procedures, technical documentation, and compliance records.
- Communicate security risks, recommendations, and remediation strategies to technical and non-technical audiences.
