Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in structural or civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Master’s degree in structural or civil engineering (preferred).
- 12+ years of structural engineering experience.
- Previous team or project leadership experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Structural Engineer (SE) license (preferred).
- Expert command of structural analysis, design, and applicable industry codes.
- Experience coordinating larger design teams and project workloads.
- Proficiency with structural and foundation software (RISA, LPILE).
- Proficiency with Trimble products and Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency in design automation tools (VBA and Python).
- Strong leadership, people-management, and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Oversee structural analysis and design for foundations, overhead steel structures, and building envelopes.
- Ensure consistent application of codes and standards such as ASCE 7, IBC, NESC, ASCE 113, IEEE 693, and NFPA.
- Drive team-wide adherence to Client, EPC, Owner, and Utility standards.
- Oversee coordination of specifications and contract requirements from design through construction.
- Coordinate workloads of larger design teams and ensure consistent technical standards.
- Manage coordination between designers and civil teams on drawings and bills of material.
- Promote use of engineering software and design automation tools like VBA and Python.
- Develop, mentor, and manage performance of staff.
- Support business development, resourcing, and proposals for the structural subdiscipline.
