Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering
- 15+ years of experience planning, designing, and executing large-scale energy projects
- Extensive experience with utility-scale solar, BESS, wind, or hydrogen systems
- Deep knowledge of generation interconnection agreements and transmission owner requirements
- Expertise in IEEE, NESC, ASCE, and industry codes and standards
- Experience managing external engineers of record and engineering consultants
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
Responsibilities
- Manage assigned substation projects from Early Stage conception through Execution and commissioning
- Provide training, due diligence, and technical oversight of external engineers of record
- Ensure compliance with generation interconnection agreements, IEEE, NESC, ASCE, and applicable industry codes
- Secure engineering consulting resources by developing SOWs, securing bids, and awarding work
- Coordinate with Transmission Services on system impact, facility, and reactive/harmonic studies
- Communicate with transmission owners/operators/ISOs regarding project deliverables
- Manage long lead major material orders to minimize schedule delays and budget overruns
- Lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams meeting safety, cost, and schedule objectives
- Support project commissioning activities and collaborate with OEMs on design integration
