Requirements
- Associate degree in drafting, mechanical design, engineering technology, or a related field preferred
- Experience in HVAC, plumbing, mechanical drafting, or environmental systems design is highly desirable
- Proficiency in AutoCAD required; familiarity with BIM software such as Revit is a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Occasional travel to job sites or client locations may be required for site assessments or installation support
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for radon mitigation systems, including mechanical components, piping layouts, fan placements, and control systems
- Draft schematic, orthographic, and isometric views to illustrate system components and airflow paths
- Revise designs to address site-specific conditions, improve system performance, and reduce installation complexity
- Interpret site surveys, architectural plans, and environmental data to inform system design
- Collaborate with field technicians, project managers, and environmental consultants to ensure designs are practical and compliant
- Participate in the development of preliminary reports and early client communications
- Attend client meetings to review system schematics and answer design-related questions
- Prepare technical illustrations and documentation for installation manuals and training materials
- Generate bills of materials (BOMs) for procurement and project planning
- Ensure all designs comply with applicable radon mitigation standards and local building codes
