Requirements
- 5+ years of telecommunications infrastructure design experience.
- Experience supporting hyperscale, colocation, mission-critical, or large-scale industrial facilities.
- Strong understanding of ISP/OSP telecommunications design principles.
- Experience with structured cabling systems, fiber optic infrastructure, and carrier connectivity.
- Familiarity with Carrier Entrance Facilities, Meet-Me Rooms, MDFs, IDFs, and telecommunications room design.
- Working knowledge of IT/OT network infrastructure and BMS network requirements.
- Knowledge of BICSI, TIA, and telecommunications industry standards.
- Experience reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
- Strong communication, coordination, and project management skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop telecommunications infrastructure standards for Rowan data centers.
- Design and review ISP and OSP telecommunications systems, including conduit pathways, duct banks, handholes, vaults, and fiber distribution networks.
- Define fiber backbone architectures, route diversity requirements, and capacity planning strategies.
- Support Carrier Entrance Facilities, Building Entry Facilities, Meet-Me Rooms, MDF, and IDF design and standards.
- Develop and maintain structured cabling standards for fiber optic and copper infrastructure.
- Coordinate carrier access requirements, dark fiber connectivity, lit services, and interconnection strategies.
- Support telecommunications commissioning activities, including fiber testing, OTDR validation, and certification review.
- Support the design and implementation of IT and OT network infrastructure within Rowan data centers.
- Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, MEP engineers, contractors, and consultants.
- Participate in design reviews, constructability reviews, value engineering exercises, and project coordination meetings.
