Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Database Administration or Data Engineering.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake (loading, tuning, administration, cost optimization).
- Deep experience managing and tuning PostgreSQL in AWS (RDS/Aurora).
- Exceptional skills in query profiling, execution plan analysis, partition strategies, and index optimization.
- Experience building data pipelines with tools like dbt, Airflow, AWS Glue, or Python.
- Experience using AWS Data Migration Service (DMS) for data synchronization.
- Proficiency with Git.
Responsibilities
- Build, manage, and monitor efficient ETL/ELT pipelines to consolidate data from multiple production AWS PostgreSQL instances into Snowflake.
- Continuously audit SQL queries across production systems to diagnose bottlenecks and optimize indexes.
- Oversee the day-to-day health, backup strategies, security compliance, and scaling of PostgreSQL and Snowflake environments.
- Partner with Software Engineers to review database schemas and queries, acting as an advisor on SQL best practices.
- Serve as the senior escalation point for database performance issues to ensure high availability.
