Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or related discipline with electrical building systems focus.
  • 10+ years of experience in A/E design environments, with strong emphasis on data centers or mission-critical infrastructure.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
  • Strong expertise in power distribution systems, including MV/LV switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, generators, and associated controls.
  • Proficiency in electrical modeling and analysis tools such as SKM, ETAP, or equivalent software.
  • Strong experience with BIM coordination tools such as Revit in large-scale multidisciplinary environments.
  • Deep understanding of redundancy and resilience strategies (N, N+1, 2N) for high-availability systems.
  • Knowledge of commissioning processes, substation design, and power monitoring systems.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical decision-making, improve processes, and drive continuous engineering improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical system design for large-scale data center and mission-critical infrastructure projects from concept through commissioning and final turnover.
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison between internal teams, engineers of record, contractors, and external consultants to resolve complex design challenges.
  • Oversee the development, review, and quality control of electrical design deliverables, including one-line diagrams, load studies, arc flash analyses, and related documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards such as NEC, IEEE, and IEC throughout the design and execution lifecycle.
  • Lead risk assessments, factory and site acceptance testing, commissioning activities, and system integration verification.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, controls, and architectural teams to ensure full coordination of integrated building systems.
  • Identify and resolve design bottlenecks while supporting schedule adherence, cost control, and project delivery performance.
  • Provide field support during construction, including site walkthroughs, issue resolution, and successful system handover to operations.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of internal design standards, templates, and engineering best practices.
