Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a desk adjuster in the homeowner/property industry.
- Experience with all perils including fire, hail, wind, water, theft, lightning, and vandalism.
- Knowledge of valued policy states and tendering limits.
- Previous experience working with contractors and vendors.
- Proficient in handling complex claims with loss values up to $75K.
- Ability to conduct recorded statements with insureds.
- Currently licensed or eligible for licensing in TX, FL, and LA.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Proficiency with MS Office suite and internal insurance systems.
- Reliable high-speed internet connectivity.
- Designated quiet work from home space.
Responsibilities
- Investigate, analyze, and determine the extent of liability concerning first party homeowner property losses and damages.
- Effectively communicate with policyholders, agents, and service providers via phone, email, and internal systems to accurately document claim details.
- Successfully manage a pending claim load at varying stages of the claims process.
- Interpret and apply the details of an insurance policy to ensure the accuracy of payments and claims declinations.
- Interpret and apply computer generated loss estimates, engineer’s reports, and construction terminology.
- Update and maintain comprehensive claim handling notations in our electronic claims management system and other related applications.
