Requirements
- Proven ability to build and deploy complex, high-quality software systems.
- Emphasis on maintainable code, rigorous testing, and engineering best practices.
- Fluent in Python and its backend ecosystem.
- Strong grasp of system design principles, including distributed systems and API design.
- Expertise in microservices architecture.
- Excellent ability to read, understand, and navigate an unfamiliar codebase quickly.
- Demonstrable history of rapidly acquiring new technical skills.
- Experience building and maintaining AI-powered products in a commercial setting.
- Familiarity with LLM operationalization including prompt engineering, vector databases, RAG, and context management.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Responsibilities
- Design and build high-performance, production-level AI-powered features and services.
- Develop robust engineering solutions to mitigate the inherent unreliability of LLMs including guardrails, validation pipelines, error handling, and caching.
- Optimize latency, throughput, and cost efficiency for AI-powered services.
- Serve as an engineering expert in integrating models and data feeds with existing business logic and APIs.
- Enforce high standards for code quality, architectural design, and system documentation.
- Implement rigorous unit, integration, and performance testing strategies.
- Take ownership of the full lifecycle of new AI features from prototyping to production.
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to deliver features on a fast iterative cycle.
- Enhance existing data and feature pipelines for improved efficiency and robustness.
