Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 7–10+ years of experience in cybersecurity or information security, including at least 5 years focused on data protection or DLP engineering.
  • Hands-on experience implementing and operating multiple data protection technologies such as DLP (endpoint, network), CASB, data classification, encryption, or tokenization.
  • Strong expertise in enterprise security architecture and data protection frameworks and best practices.
  • Experience working with tools and technologies such as proxy solutions, database monitoring, key management systems, and cloud security platforms.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and industry standards (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity Framework, PCI DSS, CCPA).
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical teams and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and collaboration skills with a track record of influencing security outcomes.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GSEC, or Security+ are highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail in high-stakes environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise data protection solutions, including DLP, CASB, encryption, and data classification technologies.
  • Serve as the technical lead and subject matter expert for data protection initiatives across the organization.
  • Develop, manage, and optimize DLP policies, configurations, and tooling aligned with business and security requirements.
  • Lead efforts around data-at-rest, data-in-transit protection, tokenization, key management, and related security controls.
  • Support Level 3/4 incident response by analyzing security events, identifying root causes, and driving remediation actions.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and technical teams to define strategy, roadmap initiatives, and governance processes.
  • Create and maintain documentation including technical procedures, hardening guidelines, and operational standards.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to engineers and analysts on data protection tools, practices, and secure data handling.
  • Contribute to security metrics reporting and continuous improvement of data protection capabilities.
