Job Details

Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience with design, studies, specifications, estimating, and construction experience in substation, transmission or power generation projects; Minimum 1 year of technical proposal writing and proposal management experience.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent technical degree.
Minimum 5 years of experience with design, studies, specifications, estimating, and construction in power generation/distribution/transmission projects.
Minimum 1 year of technical proposal writing and proposal management experience.
Bilingual (French/English) fluency, spoken and written.
Knowledge of industry standards such as IEEE, NESC, ANSI, NEMA, IEC.
Knowledge of project estimating methods and cost engineering theory.
Ability to travel up to 20% (including international travel).
Strong communication and persuasion skills.
Ability to multi-task and work well in a team environment.

Responsibilities

Serve as the technological point person for the business for the entire Inquiry to Order (ITO) phase.
Develop technical solutions (configuration, performance estimation, economics, etc.) as part of the pre-ITO process.
Deliver high technical quality proposals that are compliant, effective, and cost-competitive.
Perform basic studies necessary to verify proper specification and design of proposed solutions.
Provide technical support to create subcontractors and power equipment bid packages.
Develop new engineering concepts and products based on market feedback.
Design and implement methodologies, templates, and libraries for accurate cost estimates.
Write technical specifications for equipment and services.
Work with cross-functional teams to provide Engineer, Procure, & Construct estimates for substation and power projects.
Act as a resource and mentor for colleagues.
