Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive experience in payroll and/or accounting.
- Significant exposure to US and Canadian payroll; LATAM experience strongly preferred.
- Workday payroll experience required (processing, configuration, release testing).
- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax, and compliance across US and Canada.
- Experience with SOX-controlled environments is a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through influence.
- Track record of identifying and implementing process improvements.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- FPC or CPP certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a lead analyst and primary backup for accurate, timely payroll processing across US states, Canadian provinces, and LATAM countries.
- Own and review a broad range of payroll items, including base pay, bonuses, equity, benefits, and tax deductions in Workday.
- Review and approve on-cycle and off-cycle payrolls, validating results against expected outcomes and internal controls (including SOX).
- Support quarter-end and year-end processes, including tax reconciliations and W-2s, T4s, and RL-1s.
- Partner closely with People Operations, Finance, and Equity to troubleshoot complex payroll issues.
- Manage and develop working relationships with external payroll service providers and vendors.
- Identify, prioritize, and implement opportunities to streamline and standardize payroll processes.
- Lead or contribute to system enhancements, configurations, and testing related to Workday.
- Drive automation and self-service initiatives and leverage data to surface trends and issues.
- Lead complex payroll projects such as regulatory changes or M&A integrations.
