Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in backend engineering focused on cloud infrastructure.
- Fluency in English (speaking and writing).
- Ability to work in Americas time zones.
- Proven experience supporting large-scale workloads on AWS.
- Strong proficiency with event-driven systems (e.g., Kafka, SQS/SNS).
- Experience with Typescript and Golang is highly preferred.
- Experience with high-workload application management.
- Ability to thrive in open-ended, ambiguous environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach.
- Knowledge of email best practices or willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Define architecture to support millions of daily API requests.
- Build and scale infrastructure for sending millions of emails daily.
- Maintain high availability for distributed applications.
- Scale and optimize databases including Postgres and Clickhouse.
- Implement monitoring and observability using tools like Datadog.
- Develop and refine disaster recovery plans.
- Manage infrastructure using IaC frameworks like CDK and Terraform.
- Design and operate async pipelines including queues, streams, idempotency, and retries.
- Participate in on-call rotations for critical services.
