Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Active Georgia Special Education Teaching Certificate.
  • Ability to clear required background check.

  • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers to interpret student data.
  • Receptive to receiving coaching on a regular basis from administrators.
  • Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure student outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure special education and related services are provided per IEP team determinations.
  • Communicate with parents and related service staff to coordinate therapies.
  • Develop compliant IEPs, progress reports, and state-required documentation.
  • Facilitate and lead collaborative special education meetings such as annual IEP meetings.
  • Implement accommodations and modifications using assistive technology and supplemental curriculum.
  • Collect data and work samples to monitor progress towards IEP goals.
  • Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.
  • Maintain grade book and document all contacts and interventions.
