Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field, or equivalent renewable energy operational experience.
- 10+ years of experience in renewable energy operations and maintenance, including leadership responsibilities within utility-scale energy or infrastructure environments.
- Strong expertise in energy storage systems, battery energy storage systems (BESS), or related renewable energy technologies.
- Proven background in technical asset management, field operations leadership, and portfolio optimization strategies.
- Experience managing O&M providers, OEM relationships, and large-scale operational vendor networks.
- Solid understanding of OSHA, NERC, ISO/RTO compliance frameworks, operational risk management, and safety procedures.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and executive teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment with evolving operational priorities.
Responsibilities
- Lead field-based operations and maintenance activities for utility-scale battery energy storage assets across multiple ISO/RTO markets nationwide.
- Develop and implement operational strategies, maintenance policies, and performance optimization initiatives aligned with energy trading and revenue objectives.
- Drive asset optimization through collaboration with technical, IT, and operational teams to improve equipment reliability, software functionality, and overall system performance.
- Oversee commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives to maximize operational efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Manage relationships with third-party contractors, OEMs, and service providers to improve cost efficiency, operational quality, and long-term asset performance.
- Partner with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders on compliance, risk management, OSHA, NERC standards, and operational reporting initiatives.
- Support the scaling and evolution of asset management practices within a rapidly growing renewable energy portfolio.
