Requirements
- 6+ years of relevant experience in software engineering roles.
- 4+ years of experience in engineering management, including leading distributed and diverse teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, statistics, and machine learning concepts.
- Proven experience delivering data-intensive, cloud-based software products at scale.
- Demonstrated ability to manage technical tradeoffs, technical debt, and change management initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical topics to varied audiences.
- Experience with distributed cloud computing environments and modern engineering practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a distributed team of software engineers and data scientists focused on high-impact geospatial solutions.
- Drive execution of product roadmaps in partnership with product management, ensuring alignment between strategy and delivery.
- Remove technical and organizational blockers to enable efficient and high-quality shipping of features and improvements.
- Define and evolve engineering processes, including planning, code reviews, on-call practices, and operational excellence.
- Promote strong engineering practices for building and maintaining data pipelines, cloud systems, and machine learning workflows.
- Collaborate across teams to support infrastructure needs, model deployment, and system scalability improvements.
