Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a geotechnical focus.
- 4+ years of detailed geotechnical design, including soil remediation, deep foundations, driven, predrilled, and helical pile design.
- Experience in design of power, transmission, or other heavy industry projects.
- Experience in on-site quality surveillance of subsurface exploration programs, pile installation, and pile testing.
- Experience in writing and providing support documentation for geotechnical engineering specifications or calculations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical evaluation report writing.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare geotechnical reports and calculations for conformity with project specifications.
- Prepare specifications for subsurface investigations, deep foundations, ground improvement, earth retaining systems, monitoring wells, water production wells, and general earthwork.
- Advise power project developers to support new utility-scale solar, wind, battery energy storage, thermal, and other projects.
- Evaluate new power and infrastructure projects independently to support financing.
- Develop technical reports for owners, developers, governmental agencies, and financiers.
- Conduct occasional on-site quality surveillance of subsurface exploration programs, pile installation, and pile testing.
