Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- 4+ years of production-level Ruby on Rails experience.
- Solid experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred).
- Experience with background job processing (Sidekiq, Resque, or similar).
- Strong understanding of API design, RESTful services, and performance optimization.
- Comfortable with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
- Experience working on distributed teams and collaborating asynchronously.
- Excellent communication skills in English — written and verbal.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to balance speed and quality.
Responsibilities
- Own the backend: design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and backend systems using Ruby on Rails.
- Architect scalable solutions to handle growth, improve performance, and ensure reliability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and frontend teams to deliver features end-to-end.
- Integrate with third-party APIs and external services where needed.
- Ship with confidence: write clean, testable code, perform thorough reviews, and monitor production systems.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex issues across services and infrastructure.
- Contribute to engineering standards, tooling, and best practices to elevate overall code quality.
- Mentor junior developers and collaborate with distributed teams across time zones.
