Requirements
- J.D. from a top-tier law school.
- Admission to at least one U.S. state bar.
- Approximately 8-10 years of relevant experience in healthcare regulatory, privacy, or compliance law.
- Proven experience with U.S. healthcare regulations such as ERISA, ACA market reforms, and telehealth laws.
- Familiarity with healthcare privacy laws (HIPAA) and major frameworks (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA).
- Experience advising on AI/ML legal/policy issues in regulated industries.
- Strong ability to partner with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong business judgment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and provide advice on healthcare regulatory issues including ERISA, ACA, anti-kickback, and corporate practice of medicine.
- Counsel product and clinical teams on compliant product design and feature launches.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments in digital health.
- Serve as legal advisor on privacy and data governance, including HIPAA and global frameworks like GDPR.
- Draft and negotiate privacy and data terms in vendor and customer agreements.
- Advise on legal frameworks for ethical AI/ML model deployment and mitigation of algorithmic bias.
- Develop and maintain internal compliance policies, procedures, and training materials.
- Support compliance certifications, audits, and third-party vendor oversight.
