Requirements

  • J.D. from a top-tier law school.
  • Admission to at least one U.S. state bar.
  • Approximately 8-10 years of relevant experience in healthcare regulatory, privacy, or compliance law.
  • Proven experience with U.S. healthcare regulations such as ERISA, ACA market reforms, and telehealth laws.
  • Familiarity with healthcare privacy laws (HIPAA) and major frameworks (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA).
  • Experience advising on AI/ML legal/policy issues in regulated industries.
  • Strong ability to partner with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strategic thinker with strong business judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and provide advice on healthcare regulatory issues including ERISA, ACA, anti-kickback, and corporate practice of medicine.
  • Counsel product and clinical teams on compliant product design and feature launches.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments in digital health.
  • Serve as legal advisor on privacy and data governance, including HIPAA and global frameworks like GDPR.
  • Draft and negotiate privacy and data terms in vendor and customer agreements.
  • Advise on legal frameworks for ethical AI/ML model deployment and mitigation of algorithmic bias.
  • Develop and maintain internal compliance policies, procedures, and training materials.
  • Support compliance certifications, audits, and third-party vendor oversight.
