Requirements
- Deep experience building and operating identity, authentication, and authorization systems
- Understanding of OAuth, SCIM, OIDC, mTLS, and related primitives
- Strong distributed systems design skills (consensus, transactionality, data modeling)
- Fluency in Go, Rust, or similar languages
- Ability to work across the stack from systems to SDKs and APIs
- Experience in 0-1 startup environments
- Strong written and async communication skills
- Experience designing extensible systems (WASM, plugin frameworks, policy engines) (Preferred)
- Track record of designing ergonomic APIs or SDKs (Preferred)
- Contributions to open source identity, security, or CNCF projects (Preferred)
Responsibilities
- Design and build core identity, authentication, authorization, and data systems
- Develop distributed services for identity propagation, policy enforcement, and audit logging
- Build performant systems capable of delivering auth decisions in under 10ms
- Design and implement SDKs and APIs for developer consumption
- Collaborate with founders and cross-functional teams on platform design
- Shape internal engineering processes using agent-native workflows
