Requirements
- BS degree in a STEM field.
- 4+ years in a full-stack software engineering role with a strong focus on data engineering.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in modern Cloud Systems (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
- Production-grade proficiency in Python and TypeScript.
- In-depth understanding of software engineering best practices, performant frontend interfaces, relational database design/optimization, and scalable API design.
- Experience with or demonstrated interest in adapting the SDLC for AI-assisted development.
- Strong communication and coordination skills for a distributed team.
Responsibilities
- Design scalable near-real-time data streams, integrating data from multiple sources into analytics pipelines and relational databases.
- Improve robustness and performance of SQL database setup to facilitate high performance inserts and API reads.
- Ensure vast quantities of geospatial and tabular data are visually explorable in a reproducible, performant format.
- Utilize AI coding agents to assist in the SDLC and establish best practices for agentic workflows.
- Work alongside software engineers and data scientists, providing programming and infrastructure support for MLOps and data science initiatives.
- Help shape engineering direction by implementing robust data management practices.
- Refactor, profile, and optimize codebases, implementing integration testing, debugging, and deployment automation.
