Requirements
- 5+ years operating PostgreSQL in high-volume production environments.
- Deep understanding of PostgreSQL internals (MVCC, locks, WAL, query planner, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with HA, read scaling, replication, and disaster recovery.
- Experience with connection pooling and traffic management (e.g., PgBouncer, HAProxy).
- Practical VectorDB or vector search experience (e.g., pgvector, Milvus).
- Ability to reason about vector index types and operational tradeoffs.
- Experience with CI/CD, GitOps, and IaC (Terraform).
- Solid cloud, Linux, storage, and networking fundamentals.
- Experience with containers and Kubernetes orchestration.
- Strong security instincts and observability expertise.
Responsibilities
- Scale and tune high-throughput PostgreSQL clusters.
- Own PostgreSQL reliability fundamentals like WAL, checkpoints, and backup/restore.
- Help build and operate vector data capabilities.
- Strengthen high-availability and disaster-recovery procedures.
- Build automation to reduce manual operational work.
- Improve observability and alert quality.
- Enhance database security and auditability.
- Contribute to infrastructure-as-code and GitOps workflows.
- Partner with service and AI teams to drive performance and operational readiness.
- Participate in on-call rotations.
