Requirements
- Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 15+ years of progressive engineering leadership experience in systems architecture, systems engineering, or mission assurance.
- Demonstrated experience architecting complex software-intensive systems in aerospace, defense, national security, autonomy, AI/ML, or critical infrastructure.
- Strong command of systems engineering lifecycle practices including requirements, architecture, integration, verification, and validation.
- Experience applying mission assurance, safety, reliability, software assurance, cybersecurity, or quality frameworks.
- Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance or higher.
- Ability to work across executive, customer, and technical audiences.
- Proven success building technical teams and leading cross-functional execution.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end systems architecture for Slingshot's mission software and data ecosystem.
- Define architecture principles, technical standards, integration patterns, and design review processes.
- Ensure architecture supports secure deployment models, classified and unclassified environments, and interoperability.
- Strengthen, scale, and lead mission assurance function for software-intensive and hardware-enabled capabilities.
- Mature repeatable assurance processes for requirements, safety, verification and validation, and configuration management.
- Define the assurance approach for AI/ML-enabled space operations capabilities.
- Oversee architecture and data fusion patterns for sensor networks and hardware offerings.
- Advance adoption of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and digital engineering.
- Lead independent technical assessment of high-consequence features and autonomous workflows.
- Serve as a senior technical authority and build/lead a high-performing team.
