Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in an APAC jurisdiction and in good standing.
  • 4+ years of experience in employment law, ideally combining law firm and in-house experience.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and best practices across multiple APAC countries.
  • Proven experience drafting and negotiating employment agreements and related documentation in domestic and international contexts.
  • Familiarity with Employer of Record (EOR) models is a strong plus.
  • Excellent legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear, practical advice.
  • Ability to work independently across jurisdictions and collaborate effectively with global, cross-functional teams.
  • Strong commercial mindset, sound judgment, and a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
  • Fluency in English is required; additional languages are an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert legal counsel on employment-related matters, including contracts, policies, benefits, terminations, restructurings, and workplace compliance across APAC jurisdictions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate employment agreements, separation agreements, and other employment-related legal documentation.
  • Monitor and interpret changes in employment laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring proactive compliance updates for internal stakeholders.
  • Support client onboarding and offboarding by assessing employment risks, regulatory requirements, and jurisdiction-specific considerations in an EOR context.
  • Partner with external counsel to manage employment litigation matters in a cost-effective and strategic manner.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on both day-to-day employment issues and broader strategic legal initiatives impacting global operations.
  • Contribute to training programs by delivering employment law guidance to HR teams and client-facing stakeholders.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure consistent, compliant, and scalable employment practices across regions.
