Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (PhD, MD, PharmD, MSc, or MBA) strongly preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of experience within pharmaceutical or biotech R&D environments.
- Leadership experience in portfolio or program management.
- Strong expertise in strategic portfolio management and investment governance.
- Deep understanding of drug development processes and R&D financial modeling.
- Experience supporting executive leadership teams.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen.
- Ability to work effectively within highly matrixed and globally distributed organizations.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong leadership capabilities with experience building teams.
- PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification is an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise-wide R&D portfolio reviews and annual strategic workplan processes.
- Drive portfolio optimization across therapeutic areas and risk profiles.
- Provide strategic recommendations through data-driven prioritization and scenario analysis.
- Support governance forums and executive decision-making processes.
- Integrate scientific, clinical, operational, financial, and commercial insights.
- Oversee financial forecasting, capital allocation, and headcount planning.
- Develop and maintain portfolio analytics and executive-level reporting tools.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with development, regulatory, commercial, and finance teams.
- Support evaluation of external opportunities including licensing and acquisitions.
- Build and mentor a high-performing strategic portfolio management team.
