- Understanding of HIPAA compliance standards
Responsibilities
- Submit timely, accurate invoices to payers for services and products.
- Verify service authorizations and required documentation.
- Evaluate and apply payments to patient accounts accurately.
- Follow up on submitted invoices to ensure prompt payment.
- Manage denials and follow up within 48 hours.
- Send statements and collection letters to patients or responsible parties.
- Assist with billing and collection training.
- Perform second-level appeals to payers.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
