Requirements

  • Accredited four (4) year degree in biology, environmental science or global equivalent.
  • Ten (10) years of work-related experience or 14 years if non-degreed.
  • Experience with regulatory permitting and environmental compliance in California.
  • Knowledge of major environmental laws including CEQA, NEPA, Clean Water Act, and endangered species acts.
  • Experience working on large, complex programs and projects.
  • Exceptional analytical, verbal, and writing skills.
  • High level of organizational ability.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Provides management and oversight in the preparation of state and federal permit applications, review and analysis of NEPA and CEQA documents.
  • Supports the strategic development, preparation, and acquisition of regulatory permits and approvals under the Clean Water Act and Endangered Species Acts.
  • Reviews compliance documentation and reports.
  • Supports the procurement of compensatory mitigation by evaluating requirements and managing contracts.
  • Assists with construction-phase compliance including responding to noncompliance events and regulatory inquiries.
  • Retrieves data and prepares reporting using proprietary database management applications.
