Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data governance, stewardship, or data management.
- Proven experience leading data governance and management initiatives in complex environments.
- Strong insurance industry experience, specifically Group Benefits.
- Deep understanding of data lifecycle management, quality frameworks, metadata management, and classification.
- Skilled in data lineage, master data management (MDM), and data cataloging tools.
- Experience implementing governance frameworks in federated and complex data environments.
- Strong people and relationship management skills.
- Familiarity with SQL, Python, and data modeling concepts.
- Experience with Agile environments (Jira, Confluence, SharePoint).
- Hands-on experience with Atlan or similar metadata tools.
- Familiarity with data quality and observability tools like Anomalo.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a data governance framework aligned with corporate and regulatory needs.
- Build and manage a network of business and technical data stewards.
- Embed governance best practices into project workflows.
- Ensure data quality and integrity across financial and operational domains.
- Enable data standardization and harmonization across applications.
- Promote accountability for data stewardship.
- Establish data definitions, classification schemas, and metadata standards.
- Maintain regulatory compliance with standards like HIPAA, FINRA, GDPR, and CCPA.
- Assess and implement data governance technologies.
- Lead training and engagement initiatives to cultivate a data ownership mindset.
