Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience within the automotive and/or plastics industry in a comparable technical or business development role.
- Strong expertise in thermoplastics and automotive material applications, including PMMA, PC/ABS, composites, and related processing technologies.
- Hands-on experience with injection molding, compression molding, part design, tool validation, and automotive application development.
- Proven track record working directly with automotive OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers in customer-facing technical environments.
- Strong business development and commercial acumen, including pipeline management, opportunity qualification, and strategic account support.
- Fluency in both German and English, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to build trusted relationships with customers and collaborate effectively across international and cross-functional teams.
- Experience supporting sustainability-focused automotive initiatives, including recycled-content and low-carbon material solutions, is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Salesforce and experience managing technical reporting processes is an advantage.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and commercialization of innovative automotive applications for assigned European OEM accounts, with a focus on electric vehicle and sustainability-driven projects.
- Drive technical validation and specification activities for advanced thermoplastic solutions from early concept stages through start of production (SOP).
- Build, manage, and convert a robust pipeline of technical opportunities while supporting long-term account growth strategies.
- Act as the primary technical interface between OEM customers and internal cross-functional teams including R&D, Product Management, Sales, and Regulatory functions.
- Support material selection and application design processes by identifying customer needs and aligning them with technical capabilities and performance requirements.
- Coordinate molding trials, application testing, technical seminars, and customer workshops to support successful implementation and adoption.
- Collaborate closely with commercial teams to support opportunity progression, forecasting, and business development activities.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives around sustainable, low-carbon, recycled-content, and circular material solutions for automotive applications.
- Provide insights into OEM technology roadmaps, emerging market trends, and future mobility requirements to guide innovation and growth strategies.
- Ensure accurate tracking of opportunities, technical milestones, and customer engagements within CRM and reporting systems.
