Requirements

  • 5+ years of first-party residential property claims experience, with strong preference for prior large loss handling
  • Prior experience working directly with an insurance carrier environment
  • Strong knowledge of insurance regulations, coverage interpretation, and good faith claims handling across multiple states
  • Experience handling pre-litigation and attorney or public adjuster represented claims
  • Proficiency with claims systems and tools such as Verisk platforms, ISO ClaimSearch, Excel, and Google Workspace
  • Solid understanding of residential construction, including restoration, mitigation, roofing, and repair workflows
  • Strong analytical and data-driven mindset with attention to detail and structured decision-making
  • Excellent written communication skills for documenting claim files and correspondence
  • Proven ability to manage customer relationships with professionalism and empathy in high-stress situations
  • Willingness to support catastrophe events, including overtime and weekend work when required

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end high-severity property claims, including investigation, coverage analysis, negotiation, and settlement of large loss cases
  • Interpret insurance policies, endorsements, and related documentation to determine coverage scope and company exposure
  • Conduct detailed investigations using recorded statements, expert consultations, site documentation, and damage assessments
  • Review, draft, and approve repair and damage estimates, including structural, mitigation, and remediation costs
  • Maintain consistent communication with insureds and third parties, ensuring timely updates throughout the claims lifecycle
  • Collaborate with attorneys, public adjusters, contractors, and vendors while responding to formal correspondence and disputes
  • Issue payments, document claim activities thoroughly, and ensure compliance with multi-state regulatory requirements
