Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science (Master's preferred).
- Minimum 3-5 years of related work experience in excess of degree requirements.
- Proficiency in programming languages: C, C++, VisualC++, FORTRAN, Java, Perl, Python, PL/SQL, Shell Scripting.
- Experience with Web Application Servers (JBOSS, Tomcat) and Message Queues (Tibco JMS, AMQ).
- Familiarity with web-based development: J2EE, Servlets, SOAP, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, XML.
- Experience with Oracle or SQLSERVER databases.
- Knowledge of optimization solvers: CPLEX/AMPL, Gurobi.
- Understanding of electric power systems operations and market functions (power flow, state estimation, economic dispatch).
- Experience with source control tools (Git, GitHub) and OS environments (Windows, Linux, AIX).
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Energy Management System (EMS) applications including topology processor, power flows, state estimator, and SCADA.
- Perform software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes including design, coding, testing, and validation of grid applications.
- Design and develop backend Oracle database changes using PL/SQL.
- Develop user interface displays using GE EMS FGbuilder and Siemens WebSDK.
- Troubleshoot and resolve critical production issues on a 24x7 basis.
- Automate software development processes using CI/CD tools like Bitbucket, Apache Maven, and Jenkins.
- Collaborate with vendors (GE, Siemens, Powertech) on software integration and design reviews.
- Develop integration data flows between EMS and downstream systems like VSAT/TSAT and Market Management Systems.
