- Ability to translate complex policy into clear, compelling content.
- Strong interest in family policy, including child care and paid leave.
- Strong self-directed work ethic.
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Ability to work remotely without significant daily oversight.
- Willingness to travel sporadically.
Responsibilities
- Stay abreast of federal and state policy debates related to child care, paid leave, and family policy.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments.
- Support policy staff with research and drafting of content for IW platforms.
- Draft policy papers, issue briefs, blogs, and op-eds.
- Create and maintain resources tracking key legislation, regulations, and policy trends.
- Draft content for Action Centers and other advocacy materials.
- Engage with stakeholders, families, and policy experts.
- Work with government officials and coalitions on proposed legislation and reforms.
- Collaborate with the Independent Women’s Network team to develop campaigns.
- Support messaging and communications strategy.
