Requirements

  • 1-3 years of related experience (3-5 years preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
  • Specialized knowledge of US payroll.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficient with payroll software, specifically Workday Payroll.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Critical thinking and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support maintenance and review of payroll tax processing and accounting systems.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates and tax locations.
  • Support reconciliation of taxes.
  • Prepare periodic reports and maintain accurate records of payroll tax transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, tax, and hour laws.
  • Support internal and external audit processes.
  • Identify and recommend updates to payroll accounting software, systems, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with finance on general ledger accuracy and adjustments.
  • Address payroll questions and issues from employees and partners.
  • Make adjustments, generate W2C’s, process supplemental payroll runs, and process reversals.
