Requirements
- 1-3 years of related experience (3-5 years preferred).
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Knowledge of payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
- Specialized knowledge of US payroll.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Proficient with payroll software, specifically Workday Payroll.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Critical thinking and decision-making skills.
Responsibilities
- Support maintenance and review of payroll tax processing and accounting systems.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates and tax locations.
- Support reconciliation of taxes.
- Prepare periodic reports and maintain accurate records of payroll tax transactions.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, tax, and hour laws.
- Support internal and external audit processes.
- Identify and recommend updates to payroll accounting software, systems, and procedures.
- Collaborate with finance on general ledger accuracy and adjustments.
- Address payroll questions and issues from employees and partners.
- Make adjustments, generate W2C’s, process supplemental payroll runs, and process reversals.
